P3

                                     Unit 46 – P3
a)     Setting up appropriate equipment

To set up for filming, we firstly had a look at the weather to ensure that filming on the day would not affect the equipment (if rain occurred, we did shots inside instead).

Afterwards, we set up by finding the right location then deciding whether we wanted to use the tripod or take the shots hand held (some used tripod to make it steady and some were handheld to get the lower angles).

Finally, we ensured the lighting was right and watched back the clips after each time we filmed to ensure they are the quality which we wanted.
a)    Following script and storyboard

We followed the script and storyboard by taking these into consideration while we were filming, however in some cases we adjusted these to see what is better and safer.

For example, in the script it said that the Protagonist and the ‘new girlfriend’ approach each other and have a fight scene. We decided to include this however we did not make it last long and we had both characters only pushing each other instead of fighting physically. We did this to ensure that the cast were safe in the situation and did not get hurt.
b)    Following safe working practices

We followed the safe working practises by taking the risk assessment into consideration before filming/while filming.

For example, before filming, we checked the weather to ensure that filming would be safe for the Protagonist as well as not damaging towards the equipment.

c)     Following production process

We followed the production process by sticking to our initial plan (everything we wanted to film) as well as all the elements which came along with it (e.g. script, storyboard, treatment, logging shots, production schedule and legal and ethical).

One main thing which we had to do differently was change who the star was due to complications with who could make it at what time. Overall this worked better than expected, however it led to filming being delayed, which overall meant that we could not follow the production schedule accurately.

Also, in terms of roles, these were distributed between the group. For example, I was in charge of the script and storyboard while Tyra was in charge of the Production Schedule and Logging the shots. This was then followed by Lauren being in charge of the treatment and Issy doing the Legal and Ethical.
